Animations
Brief:
This is a compilation of 2D and 3D animations. I wanted to explore the different types of animations. Slowly, I'm transitioning to rigging with the 3D animations.
Motion Graphics
Puppet:
Using Procreate, I created a puppet inspired by Valorant, a video game. I separated the limbs and labeled the parts to make them easier to animate. I took the puppet into AfterEffects to create this animation by using a mix of parenting and puppet pins.
Supertrees:
Before creating the animation, I mapped out the scenes using a storyboard. Using Procreate, I created the assets. This animation is inspired by my experience of going to Singapore in 2019. It's a unique vertical garden that I will never be able to forget. To do the camera panning, I created separate layers for the trees. I took the different layers into AfterEffects to finish up my animation.
Machine:
This was one of the first few times that I created an animation. I wanted to focus on the principles of animation. Some of these include exaggeration from the pipes shifting left and right throughout the video, easing in and out from the propellers and the switches, and mass and weight from the ball.
3D Animations
Butterfly:
I found these assets from 3DWarehouse. I created a looping animation with a butterfly. To make it realistic, I watched a few references of a butterfly landing and fluttering.
Waking up:
This is my first time working with motion capture. I thought it was incredibly fun to see an actor play out your vision and then see it in the animation. The glitches add to the character with its exaggeration.
